Text Box: On Sunday April 19th more than 150 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from the New York Archdiocese gathered at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral to receive their Roman Catholic Religious Emblems. The annual Emblem Sunday had the traditional procession across Fifth Avenue, but even more impressively the families in attendance were treated to the first Sunday Mass celebrated by new Archbishop of New York, the Most Reverend Timothy M. Dolan. The new Archbishop who was a Scout as a youth spoke highly about his experience in the program, which was highlighted by his earning of the Ad Altare Dei Emblem. He personally congratulated each recipient and talked about the strong
relationship between the Catholic Church and Scouting.

Register now–the registration deadline is May 11th!

Scheduled activities include: archery, canoeing, hiking, scout skills, crafts, fitness, nature, treasure hunt (orienteering), afternoon entertainment, and campfire.  Bring a bagged lunch, snack and bottled water and we’ll provide a BBQ dinner (additional fee per person) and a

continental breakfast Sunday.  A campsite will be provided (no charge) for those families who would like to spend the night (please bring your tent and personal gear).

Cub Scout Day Camps – New Online Registration!

Day camp is easier to register for than ever!  Parents can visit the Cub Day Camp section of our web site and register their Scout and make payments online!  Is there a better way to spend a week during the summer than at one of our day camps?  Probably not!  Boys will have a tremendous week swimming, hiking, participating in sports and games and Cub Scout advancement.  All Cubs who are graduating Tigers, Wolfs, Bears and first year Webelos are invited to one or more weeks of day camps at one of our three locations – Glen Island Park in New Rochelle, Sprain Ridge Park in Yonkers and the Durland Scout Reservation in Putnam Valley.  The camps operate from 9:30 to 3:30 each weekday throughout most of the summer.  The fee is much less than most private camps and the staff is comprised mostly of adults and is outstanding.  Each Pack is

encouraged to send a den or more!  Discounts are available for sending a den and a leader and for registering for multiple weeks of camp.
