Ktemaque Lodge's own Brandon Azoulai was re-elected to be the Order of the Arrow Section Chief of Section NE-7B during the Section NE-7B Conclave. A Section Chief is a youth leadership position in Area 7 of the Northeast Region BSA. Some of a Section Chief's responsibilities are to organize and provide leadership to achieve a successful annual conclave and fulfill section operations responsibilities, preside over meetings of the council of chiefs and the conclave business meetings, delegate duties to other section officers and members of the council of chiefs, attend section officer seminars and appropriate national leadership seminars, represent the section at region and national functions and activities when invited, participate in an annual national planning meeting, promote participation in region and national events, and appoint and oversee a section assistance team that will operate under the leadership of the section vice chief.

Congratulations to Bobby Ciralli who was re-elected to be the Lodge Chief of Ktemaque Lodge. Bobby is a Vigil Honor Member in Ktemaque Lodge and is an Eagle Scout in Troop 440 Patterson.

A Lodge Chief is a youth leadership position in a lodge. Some of a Lodge Chief's responsibilities are to plan and conduct lodge activities, appoint lodge committee chairmen in consultation with the lodge adviser and lodge staff adviser, assign lodge members to operating committees, preside over all lodge and lodge executive committee meetings working from an agenda established by the Lodge Chief, Lodge Adviser, and Lodge Staff Adviser, and delegate his duties to fellow lodge officers and committee chairmen

Section NE-7B Conclave
19 youth and adult members of Ktemaque Lodge attended the annual Section NE-7B Conclave, which was held June 11-13, 2010 at Camp Ranachqua at Ten Mile River Scout Camps in Narrrowsburg, NY. A Section Conclave is where Arrowmen from all the seven lodges in Section NE-7B located in the lower Hudson River area and a part of Long Island get together to share ideas, take part in training classes, trade patches, enjoy lots of fun games and activities, sports competitions, and lots of delicious food and themd meals, and much more. Section Conclaves are held once a year and are hosted by a different lodge every year. This year's theme was "Power of the Clan". Fellowship with Arrowmen from the other lodges was one of the highlights.

Ktemaque Lodge organized and ran the Friday evening activities at the Section Conclave, which were very successful and enjoyed by all.

During the election for Section Officers, which was held on Saturday evening, Ktemaque Lodge's own Brandon Azoulai was elected to be the new Section Chief of Section NE-7B. Congratulations, Brandon!

Order of the Arrow at the National Scout Jamboree
About 500 Order of the Arrow volunteers from OA lodges all around the country, including Ktemaque Lodge, staffed the following OA programs at the National Scout Jamboree or served on the Jamboree staff.

The OA Service Corps provided invaluable help in countless ways every day of the Jamboree.

The OA Mysterium Compass was an exciting 80-minute show for Scouts in air-conditioning. The live-action adventure taught life lessons using improvisational actors, theatre props, and special effects. Scouts were challenged to keep their values and their wits while trying to outdo the competition. They were given the choice to choose themself or others when facing the challenges of life. Scouts explored these questions: "What do I know?" "What do I believe?" "What do I need to help me find the way?" during the interactive show. The show was very popular and everyone enjoyed the air-conditioning!

The OA Indian Village was filled with American Indian village areas depicting the life of several North American tribes, an American Indian Craft Zone, Indian Lore Merit Badge area, daily American Indian dance vignettes, and a daily flag ceremony where the Indian Village staff raised flags in the Indian tradition.

The OA PACEsetters was a physical fitness program about healthy choices.
